PhotoJournalism Part 2

War Photography

Robert Capa
Robert Capa born October 13th 1913 - May 25th 1954 was a hungarian photographer who was originally interested in becoming a writer. However, he decided to try out photography and became really passionate about it. He was known to be so careless in taking images in the war that he became a legend in modern photography, his images shocked the whole world as this was to be an insight of what really happens.

'He died with a camera in his left hand, his story unexpectedly finished.'

Tony Vaccaro

Tony Vaccaro, Born December 20.1922 is also known as Michael A.Vaccaro is an American photographer who is best known for his photo's taken in Europe during 1944-45 and in Germany immediately after World War II. Taking photographs while entering potentially deadly combat situations would require a dexterous balancing act: with his rifle crooked prone on his arm, he would snap a frame, let the camera drop to the strap round his neck, and quickly move on.

My approach was this : I said to myself, 'Tony, don't worry about how good the picture is going to be under difficult conditions and light. Take it, no matter what. If the eye sees it, take it.'
